That time came round once again. The favorite time of day for any Kitty-Bot.
Dinner time.
But something was wrong today. Their master hadn't show up for breakfast, or for last solar cycle's dinner.

And the kitties were getting impatient.

The chamber that held their energon bits loomed over the Kitty-Bots like a towering symbol of their temptation, just laughing at them. There would be no way a single kitty could open the chamber.

"When is Sentinel supposed to get here?" Little Bumblebee mewled feebly where he lay flat on his back on the cold floor. Weakened by hunger, his ears fallen to the sides of his head, and his paws tucked close to his chest. A ways away, squashed onto the floor by the chamber doors, lay Prowl, with Jazz resting his head on his friend's back. "I'm so hungry..." The two of them groaned in unison. "I don't think he's ever coming back," Jazz added.

"C'mon now, Sentinel will show up." The sound of pawsteps made the three kitties ears all twitch, but they lacked the energy to see that it was Optimus and Ratchet who approached. "We just have to be patient," Ratchet reminded them.

"But he's been gone for an entire cycle now!" Bumblebee whimpered, and batted at the air to show his frustration. "Why can't we just open the doors ourselves?"
Prowl perked up now, raising his chin off of his little paws, and looked at Bumblebee. "That's it! We can just open the chamber ourselves!"

Optimus's ears pinned back against his head, "Kitties, remember what happened last time we didn't do what Sentinel asked?"
"He tried to hide our cat-nip toys from us," Jazz began,  "But we still found them!" and Prowl finished.
Bumblebee leaped onto his feet, "Please, Optimus? We're so hungryyyy. Can you help us?"

The older cat's ears fell to the sides of his head, and his tail flicked slowly from side to side. Defeated by the little kit's logic, he looked away. "Fine."

The two other kittens jumped up, and they cheered happily. Jazz pounced on Bumblebee, and the two tumbled across the floor. Pinning the other kitten down, Bee's tail twitched with excitement. "Alright! I have an idea. We can make a tower to reach the door! Optimus can be on bottom, because he's the biggest. Then Ratchet, then Prowl, then Jazz, then me!"

Ratchet sighed and shook his head, "If you little slagheads get us in trouble again..."
Optimus brushed himself against the medi-kitty, and purred. "What's the worst that can happen? Sentinel can't stay mad at us for too long, right?"

Following Bumblebee's idea, Optimus took position at the bottom of the tower, Ratchet hopped on top of him, then Prowl, then Jazz, and finally Bee. They wobbled dangerously as Optimus tried to keep them all steady, and Ratchet hissed loudly at him, "Careful!" Optimus's ears twitched furiously, and he hissed back. "You try having four cats on your back! You're not exactly the skinniest one in the house, Ratchet!"

"Keep it steady!" Bumblebee cried from where he was at the top. Batting at the door as he tried to reach for the handle, he let out a frustrated little mew when he realized he was too short to reach. "I'm too short! I can't reach it on all fours. I'm going to try on my back paws."
"Careful, Bee!" Prowl warned as the youngest kitty slowly reared up onto his hind legs. His tail thrashed furiously, desperate to try and keep him balanced as he reached for the handle. Securing one paw on the smooth metal, his eyes grew wide with excitement, and he wrapped his other around the bar. "I got it! I got it!" He cried, and pushed the door to the left with all of his might. But with it, he forced all the other kitties backward, and they all came crashing down to the floor. The pile of Kitty-Bots scrambled frantically to free themselves from one another and see if they succeeded in their mission.

Once they were all up, they gazed longingly at the door, the glorious, open door.

Everyone cheered and Bumblebee, who still hadn't completed the mission, raced towards the door, and with three great leaps, reached the top shelf where the bucket of food sat. Taking the handle in his sharp little teeth, he dragged it off the shelf, sending it down to the ground where the lid popped off and energon-bits scattered everywhere.

The Kitty-Bots had a grand feast that day and only when they were all asleep, curled against one another for warmth, did Sentinel come home to find the mess his impatient little ones had left behind.
Hungry kitties are naughty kitties.
